Detweiler-Oct. 16th, at Summitville, Indiana, Salome C. Detweiler, wife of C. F. Detweiler and daughter of Enoch Zook, aged 38 years, 10 months and 23 days. When an affectionate wife, a faithful, patient mother, and an humble believer in the Lord is called to rest, we may feel it as a sore bereavement for the present; but let us not forget that our loss is to such great great gain.
Salome was born 24 Oct 1844, at Belleville, Mifflin Co, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Deacon Enoch Zook and Mary F. Hartzler Zook. On 13 Feb 1868, Salome married Christian F. Detweiler, in Huntingdon Co., Pennsylvania. Salome and Christian were the parents of seven children: Ezra Horace, Emma Z., Anna Z., Mary E., David Z., Sarah Helena (Lena), and Jesse Crosswhite Detweiler.
