Jack Parker was a motorcycle patrolman with the East Point Police Department in East Point Georgia. He was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle on a deep curve on Connally Dr. He was not wearing a helmet which was not a requirement at the time. Because of his accident, the curve earned the name "Dead Man's Curve" and is still referred to by that name to this day. Officer Parker had been with the department for four years, and was 30 years old.
