Joseph (Joe) was born the 9th of 11 children to James Hamilton and Margaret Isabel (Cork) Boughner and raised on the family farm in St. Clair Co., MI helping with the chores and working on a mint farm while still attending school. Joe was a PFC in WWII who served his country stationed in the Azores Islands as an Automotive Equipment Operator. He received the World War II Victory Medal, and an Honorable Discharge. He is a retired worker from Buick motor after being there for 30 years. He built 2 homes with his own hands. He then spent many years repairing lawn mowers, tillers, etc. in his pole barn. He loved growing vegetables but hated the weeding. He loved to go deer, pheasant,and partridge hunting, fishing, and playing Euchre. He was married for 57 years and had five children, one daughter and four sons, and many loving Grandchildren.
