Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Burton was the 9th of 10 known children to Williams Burton (1801-1861) and Mary E. Franklin (Maiden Name Unproven, 1810-1893).
Betty, as she was known to her family and friends, was born in Tippah Co., Mississippi and moved with her family to Arkansas while a young girl.
There she first married John William Craiglow, Jr. and had four children. Four years after his death, Betty married John S. Poe and had three more children. Her headstone in the Landmark Cemetery reads Betty Poe.
Betty was predeceased by her first husband in 1883 and by her second husband in 1917. She was survived by her children.
Betty's daughter Laura Jane Criglow was already married and living elsewhere when the group photo was taken. The photo was from the album belonging to her granddaughter Lexie Belle Ray McGill Piper.
