Mrs. Jeff Havens
Mrs. Jeff Havens, wife of Rev. J.H. Havens, died at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 2. Mrs. Havens was before her marriage Miss Mary Jane Roberts. She was born in Jackson County November 23, 1853, being therefore, 82 years, 10 months and 9 days of age at the time of death.
Mr. and Mrs. Havens were married Dec. 31, 1868.
Mrs. Havens is survived by her husband, one son, W.R. Havens of Vancleave; three daughters, Miss Lillie Havens of Vancleave; Mrs. Eunice Green of Benndale, and Mrs. Paul Kinch of Lucedale. Two other children Val, 14, and Jeff Stewart, three months, died many years ago.
There are 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
There was a large crowd in attendance at the funeral, which took place Tuesday afternoon at the family home and burying ground. Rev. H.W. Van Hook conducted the services, assisted by Rev. R.L. Vaughn.
The sympathy of the entire community is extended the family in their bereavement.
