Richard "Dick" Duncan, 74, died Nov. 30, 2001, at Hutchinson Hospital, Hutchinson. He was born Nov. 28, 1927, in Stafford County, the son of S.N. "Sam" and Lucille Haggett Duncan. He was a graduate of Sylvia High School. A longtime resident of Sylvia, he was an oil-field pumper and worked as power-plant operator for KSIR, Hutchinson. He belonged to First United Methodist Church, Sylvia, and the Masonic Lodge. On Sept. 26, 1973, he married Maxine Bruer at Sylvia. She survives. Other survivors include: two stepdaughters, Kathy Burgey, Sylvia, and Theresa Kraus, Scandia; four step-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandson.
