Hazel Lynn (Ramsdell) Barton was born November 14, 1889 in Houston, Minnesota, to Adelbert and Mary Louise (Carrier) Ramsdell. She had two brothers, Albert and Fredrick Ramsdell.

Hazel married Frank Omer Barton, son of Isaac and Rebecca "Molly" (McAdams) Barton. She and Frank were married on the 6th of September 1908, in Hillsdale, WI. by Minister C.L. Salesbury. This union was blessed with three sons, Gerald Leonard Barton, (1911-1997), Fay LaRoy Barton, (1916-1990), and Glen LaVern Barton, (1919-1977).

The first few years of the marriage, the family lived in Town of Maple Grove, Barron Co. Wisconsin, where Frank was farming, and Hazel took care of her children, and family. By 1930, the Barton family was living in Rice Lake, where Frank was employed by the Lumber Mill, and Hazel continued housekeeping and child rearing.

In May of 1988 Hazel traveled all of the way to Dolores, Colorado to attend the wedding of her great grandson, Dave Bryngelson.

Hazel then remained in Wisconsin, Barron County until her death in 1989.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Frank, her son, Glen, and great grandson Steve. She had 4 grand children, 8 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
