Frank Omer Barton was born in Barron County WI. to Isaac and Mary Rebecca "Molly" (McAdams) Barton on November 27, 1884. His siblings included: Bertha, Sylvanus, William Barton, and adopted sister, Winnie.

Frank married Hazel Lynn (Ramsdell) on September 6, 1908 in Hillsdale. They were married at 8:00 p.m. by Minister C.L. Salesbury. For a short time he and Hazel lived in Melrose City, MN. and Frank worked as a Locomotive Fireman.

By the time their first son, Gerald Leonard Barton, (1911-1997) was born, they were living in Maple Grove, Barron Co., where Frank was farming. They were blessed with two more sons, Fay LaRoy Barton, (1916-1990), and Glen LaVern Barton, (1919-1977).

Frank worked a variety of jobs including the above mentioned and the lumber mill in Rice Lake. He died at the young age of 48, and left his grieving widow, and three young sons.
