Walter E. Hain, 31, of 20758 Roscoe Blvd., was pronounced dead near midnight Tuesday at Northridge Receiving Hospital after his out-of-control vehicle threw him out and pinned him against a steel post.
The ranch wagon Hain was driving at what police said was apparently an unsafe speed struck the burm, went onto private property at 8605 Corbin Ave., went through a chain link fence and struck a tree, police said.
Hain apparently fell out of the vehicle and his shoulder and body were pinned against the steel post.
