GREENVILLE, Pa. (AP) -- A Mercer County man, who was ice fishing on Shenango River Lake, drowned after he and three others fell through the ice.
Pymatuning Township Officer, Mario Piccirilli said John E. Tyran, 41, of Hermitage, died after the accident Saturday (4 March 1989).
David D. Oakes, 31, also of Hermitage, was listed in fair condition at Greenville Regional Hospital. The two others were treated at the hospital and released¬.

Mr. John Tyran was born in Sharon May 25, 1947 to Dr. Theophil Tyran and Mildred Lark Tyran. His father had been an area physician for many years with offices in Sharpsville.
He was a 1965 graduate of Hickory High School, Hermitage and attended Youngstown State University.
A foreman, he was an employed at the oxygen furnace of Sharon Steel Corp. and had 20 years of service with the company.
He attended Notre Dame Church, Hermitage.
An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Tyran was a hunter, fisherman and
and golfer. He was a member of the Erie Trout Club.
Surviving are his wife the former JoAnne Stadler Lord, whom
he married September 12, 1986, two daughters, Lisa Lynn Tyran and Nicole Leigh Tyran both of Hermitage.
He had been married to the former Rita Currie.
Burial in St. Rose Cemetery.
