Warner C. Shepherd, 74, of Duck Hill, died Monday, May 17, at his home. Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19, at National Funeral Home. Funeral Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at the National Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lloyd Sweatt officiating. Burial followed in the Duck Hill Cemetery in Duck Hill.
Warner was born on June 16, 1935, in Yalobusha County to Robert W. and Lily Black Shepherd. He was a member of the Duck Hill Baptist Church. He was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sandra Shepherd, of Duck Hill; one daughter, Beverly Murphy (Bill), of Waterloo, Ala.; one sister, Martha Kirkwood of Duck Hill; two brothers, Sam Shepherd of Duck Hill and Eugene Shepherd of South Lebanon, Ohio; one granddaughter, Amber McCaulla Hill, and her children, Avery and Bryce; one grandson, David McCaulla (Amanda), and their children, Alyssa, Cassie, Cayson, Allie and Tripp; and his loyal friend, Coco Murphy Shepherd.
National Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
