Norma taught school at Box Angle near Cabool, Victor Country School near Cabool, and then moved on to the Houston School system. She then taught in Kansas City for several years until 1970, when she moved back to Willow Springs where she taught until she retired. She enjoyed working in the garden and loved her pets.
Norma was a member of Faith and Hope Freewill Baptist Church of Willow Springs. She lived in the Faith and Hope Community for 26 years before moving to the Autumn Oaks Caring Center due to her health.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Ted Smith; second husband Phillip Biesemeyer; three brothers, Lowell Willis, Loren Willis and Leo Willis; and one sister Lura Cash. She is survived by two brothers, Lloyd Willis of Houston, MO, and Leaman Willis of Willingston, SD; two sisters, Goldie Groves of Plato, MO, and Lorene Coleman of Naches, WA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services were at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, at Monger Cemetery with the Rev. Hubert Darter officiating. Burial was in Monger Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool, MO.
