Obituary:
Blaine Long of 1007 Jefferson Avenue, Portage, passed away early Sunday morning, November 20, 1955, at the Memorial Hospital in Johnstown. He had been in failing health for two years. The deceased was born August 6, 1884, in Portage. He was united in marriage to Emma Edelblute of Huntingdon at Hollidaysburg. Long was a member of the Bethany United Brethren Church in Portage, and was a retired coal miner. His wife and two children, Mrs. John (Thelma) Burns of Portage and Mrs. Merle (Darl) Rush of Cleveland, survive. He is also survived by three grandchildren; two brothers and one sister who live in Portage. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 23, at 2 p.m. in the Bethany United Brethren Church in Portage. The Rev. James A. Woomer will have charge of the services and burial will be made in the Mount Moriah United Brethren Cemetery at Blue Knob. Friends are being received at the Weddell funeral home in Portage.
