Utica - Seated in a rocking chair in his apartment on the top floor of the Port Schuyler Building, Blandina and Genesee Streets, William N. Weaver, 68, was found dead this morning.
His son, Clinton, stopped in to see why his father had not gone to work and found him in the chair with a newspaper in his hands.
Dr. Gordon A. Holden, coroner, was called and pronounced death due to heart disease. Reports on the street were that Weaver had been overcome by gas, but officials denied this.
Mr. Weaver was born in Utica about 68 years ago, son of Hannah and William N. Weaver. He was educated in the public schools and spent his entire life here.
He was married 60 years ago to Mildred J. Northup who died in 1900.
Mr. Weaver engaged in the trucking business, in the firm of David & Weaver, which was located on Hotel Street for a number of years. At the time of his death he was associated with his son, William N. Weaver, Jr., in the trucking business.
Mr. Weaver was a member of Westminister Church. He belonged at one time to the Maccabees an Royal Arcanum.
He leaves three sisters, Miss Isabel Weaver, Miss Lillian Weaver and Mrs. Hattie Brown, all of Utica; one brother, Daniel C., New York; two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude L. Bachus, Old Forge and Mildred L. Weaver, New York; three sons, Albert L., Old Forge, William Jr., and Clinton J. of Utica.
The funeral will be from the home of his sister, Miss Isabel Weaver. Utica Observer Dispatch, Friday, March 30, 1928
