Louie was born to Carl Nuenke and Clara Jackson on January 31, 1920 in Chippewa Falls, WI. He married Florence Jones on May 31, 1947. Louie was in the second World War and Berlin Air Lift. He worked in the Eau Claire Post office for 29 years until his retirement in 1980.
Louie is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Florence; children, Dennis (Linnette), Janet Rominski, Gerald (Dawn), Jean (Ron) Bartz, Ken (Kathy), Ronald (Theresa) and Curtis (Gina); 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Buchholz; brother, Larry; sister-in-law, Janet Nuenke; and many nieces; nephews; and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by grandson, Ryan Nuenke; and siblings, Marvel, Elfrieda, Martha and Robert.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday (TODAY), April 29th, 2010 at Ascension Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1500 Peterson Avenue, Eau Claire WI 54703.
Funeral Service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 30th, at Ascension Evangelical Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Paul Sullivan will be officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Township of Washington with the Eau Claire American Legion Post 53 conducting Military Honors.
