Last rites for Lonnie Preston, 29, of Dallas were set Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Gene Roden and Sons chapel, with internment in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Preston was one of two people fatally injured in an automobile collision Sunday morning, five miles south of Paris. Also killed was his cousin, Wanda June Preston.
He was born in Howland, Texas, son of the late Charley and Ida Travillion Preston, His mother now living in Paris. Surviving also are his wife, the former Dorothy Fay McFarland; a daughter, Shirley Ann and these brothers and sisters; H. C. Preston, Howland; Fonnie Preston and Jeff Preston,now in Arizona; Mrs. Edna Williamson and Mrs. Velma Jordan, Paris; Mrs. Stella Anderson, Fort Worth; Mrs. Dovie Thompson, Mrs. Ann Hulsey, and Mrs. Christine Bowers, all of Dallas.
In charge of services were the Rev. Hugh Tomlinson, pallbearers being Lonnie Richardson, Gene Richardson, Johnny Preston, Junior Preston, Carl Thompson, Homer Sisson, Jack Preston and Bill Preston.
