Elsie O. Beachler
Elsie Oakes Beachler, 97, of Red Bluff died Thursday in a hospital here after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Beachler was born Sept. 5, 1887, in Flournoy, to early day pioneers who had settled in the Henleyville area about 1856. She moved to Chico in 1950 and lived there until 1974 when she moved to Red Bluff.
Survivors are one son, Alvin Oakes of Red Bluff, Annabelle Carrier of Willows, and Helen Hayden of San Diego, whom she raised; numerous grandchildren, including Sharon Oakes of Red Bluff; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Chapel of the Flowers with interment to follow at the Paskenta Cemetery.
The chapel will be open Sunday for visitation from 1-5 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund, P.O. Box 100, Red Bluff, [sic] 96080.
