George F. Morganthall 76, of 13322 Waterloo Road, Rouzerville died unexpectedly while cutting wood at his home Wednesday at 12:30 P.M. He had been in failing health for the past year. His death was attributed to a heart attack.
Morganthall was born in Waynesboro on Sept 4, 1904, a son of the late Howard F. and Susan (FLorence) Morganthall. His early life was lived in Waynesboro and the Ringgold, Md. area.
He and his wife were married in April 1924 and had lived at the present residence for the past 33 years.
As a young man, he was employed at the Waynesboro Ice and Cold Storage and he later worked at Landis Machine Co. Prior to his returement in 1970 Morganthall was last employed as a machine operator at Frick Co. for 20 years.
He was a member of the Blue Mountain Church of God.
In addition to his wife, Mrs. Teressa J. (Ferguson) Morganthall he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Wilders, Waynesboro, a son Walter Morganthall, Rouzerville; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and five sisters, Mrs. Bertha Fuller of Baltimore, Mrs. Margaret Kauffman of Mont Alto, Mrs. Lillian Willman of Hagerstown, Mrs. Leila Hurd of Greencastle and Mrs. Laura Yeager of Waynesboro.
Services will be held Saturday at 1:30 P. M. in the Grove Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. C. W. McGaha. Burial will be in the Bethel Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 P. M. Friday.
