Mrs. Petra Iskra of Painesdale Dies at her Daughter's homeMrs. Petra Iskra, 78, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward Skoviak, of Ontonagon last evening.
She was born in Yugoslavia and came to the copper Country 50 years ago, making her home in Painesdale. Early last winter she left Painesdale to live with her daughter in Ontonagon. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1946. Mrs. Iskra was a member of the Sacred Heart church of Painesdale and of the Croatian Fraternal Union.
Surviving are five sons, Joseph, of Cheboygan, Wis., Stephen of Ironwood, Frank of Painesdale, Martin of South Range, Michael of Oak Park, Detroit, two daughters Mrs. Edward Skoviak of Ontonagon and Mrs. Miller Fleming of Munising, a brother, Andrew Kruzich of Iowa and 11 grandchildren.
The body is at Plowe's Funeral Home where it will remain until the services Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Painesdale. The Rev. Fr. Belot will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited Friday evening at 9 o'clock.
