Jesse "Dwayne" Mount, 87, of North Platte died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, at Premier Estates in North Platte.


Dwayne was born Oct. 23, 1918, at Northport to Jesse Edwin and Rosa Pearl Rodgers Mount. He graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1936. Dwayne moved to North Platte in 1938 and started working for the Pawnee Hotel and worked up to bell captain. He worked for Ogiers fill-ing station and the Artificial Ice and Coal, later known as Arrowhead Distributing. He was with them for 31 years. After retiring, Dwayne worked part time at Chief Honest John's.

On June 2, 1940, Dwayne married Geneva "Neva" B. Davis at First Baptist Church in North Platte and they made North Platte their home.

Dwayne was a member of the First Christian Church and past member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 2839 and BPO Elks 985 and a 1936 member of the National Honor Society. He was an avid bowler and helped with youth bowling.

Survivors include his daughter, April Mae Larson of North Platte; three grandchildren, Pas-tor Michael (Barbara) Larson, Denise Larson and Michelle Larson; five great-grandchildren, Jimmie (Chris) Nidey, and Mikah, Zachary Cole and Allie Mae and Zachary Alan; and other family.

He was preceded in death by his wife Neva; his parents; three sisters, Grace Beyer, Gladys Colgrove and Alyce Reynolds; and a brother, Charles Mount.

A funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, at the First Christian Church with Pastor Steven Jergensen and also Pastor Michael Larson of Elks City, Okla., officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Saturday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore in North Platte.
