Mrs. Ada Abner, aged 28 years, died this morning on the Lost Forty mining ground southwest of this city. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning and interment made in the Galena cemetery.

Note: in the 1900 census, Ada is recorded as the wife of Monroe Abner. Her birth is given as February 1872; the African-American couple are with one child, Bevie Abner, age 14. Ada Tolley and Monroe Abner married in Birmingham, Alabama, on July 31, 1889. Bevie was the child of Ada, and Monroe was her step-father. ~~mjp~~
