Henrietta Beardsley Chesebro
Mrs. James Chesebro, of Hammondsport, died on Monday morning. She had been suffering from heart trouble for some time, and about a week ago had a stroke of paralysis which proved fatal. Mrs. Chesebro's maiden name was Henrietta E. Beardsley, and she was born in Port Byron in 1824, being the daughter of Roswell and Harriet Beardsley. She began teaching school when she was 16 and taught for twelve years.
In 1853 she was married to James Chesebro, of Naples, and they lived there until eight years ago, when they moved to Hammondsport. She is survived by Her husband and one daughter, Miss Anna B. Chesebro.
Mrs. Chesebro was of an exceptionally fine character, an unselfish, lovable Christian woman. She was a devout member of the Presbyterian church.
A short service was held Tuesday afternoon at the home in Hammondsport, and the remains were taken to Naples, where the funeral will be held at the home of her nephew, D. H. Maxfield, to-day, the burial being in Naples. — Hammondsport cor. to Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.
The bereaved husband and daughter have the sympathy of the entire community, as the deceased spent nearly her whole life in Naples, and none knew her but to love and respect.
