Edward was the oldest child in a family of six known children. His brothers and sisters were: Anna Strobel, b.1878; Edna W. Strobel-Lindroth, b. 1885; Harry Joseph Strobel, b. 1887; Marie H. Strobel, b. 1889; and Emalee Elizabeth Strobel-Patee, b. 1894, all born in Pennsylvania.
On June 25, 1902, in Lilly, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, Edward married Estella Bradley (1880-1951). Estella was a daughter of Dennis Bradley (1834-1898), and Margaret Fitzpatrick (1846-1912), both born in Ireland.
Edward and Estella settled in Vandergrift, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where Edward was foreman in a steel mill. They had three known children: Evelyn M. Strobel-Taylor (1903-1997), Marguerite Strobel-Thomas (1916-1985), and Lorraine Strobel-Losasso (1918-2003).
Edward died on Jan 17, 1965, and both he and his wife are buried in St. Gertrude Memorial Cemetery in Vandergrift.
