Researcher Marilyn Kosanke submitted the following information on Cynthia Fyke Good from her research: "I suggested the first name of Mrs. Good be spelled Cynthia because that is what is on the death certificates of two of her children. In her death announcement in The Dallas Morning News she is only identified as Mrs. Noah Good. The spelling on the tombstone got me curious so I checked the census reports. For 1860, her first name was Synthia M. For 1870, it looks like Smith A. or Snith A. For 1880, it was Synthia. So for two out of three, it was Synthia. Apparently either her children thought it was Cynthia with a "C," or just decided to modernize the spelling. Either way, it doesn't explain the omission of "i" on the tombstone. ... According to the DMN, she died on May 23." [9 Sep 2010]

According to researcher, Sylvia Mast, a good source "The Elm Fork Settlement, Farmers Branch and Carrollton", by Georgia Meyers Ogle, mentioned that Cynthia was named Sintha Mai Fyke by her parents. She was born in Robertson Co., TN and died in Farmers Branch. [27 Oct 2011]

I have listed her name as Cyntha on this page, per her marker, although it probably should have been Sintha or Syntha.
