Donald was born March 31, 1937, in Chicago, Ill., to Louis and Eileen (Sullivan) Regnier. He married Helen Rupe. She survives in Peoria.
Also surviving are his children, Donnie (Linda) Regnier of Wenona, Mary Catherine (Shane) Hertz of Peoria and Greg Regnier of Peoria; grandchildren, Stephanie Regnier, Anthony Regnier, Marissa Dunkerley, Melanie Dunkerley and Michael Hertz; and his sisters, Ellen (Jim) Richards of Chicago Heights and Catherine "Tink" (Dennis) Connell.
His parents; two brothers, Louis and Greg Regnier; and one sister, Alice Williams, preceded him in death.
Donald was a 1956 graduate from Wenona High School. He had served his country in the United States Army Reserve.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Peoria.
Donald had worked for the Peoria Journal Star in the dispatch department, retiring in 1995.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Wenona, where military rites will be accorded by the Rutland American Legion.
Calvert & Froelich Memorial Home in Toluca is in charge of arrangements.
