He was the son of James Walter & Jesse Rose McGinnis Findlow.

He married Marianne Christine Peters on May 28, 1945 in St. Paul, MN. They were the parents of David John, Barbara Rose, Mary Ann and John Wilbur, Jr.

JOHN FINDLOW SR.

John Findlow Sr., 78, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998, at Lucy Lee Healthcare System.

Mr. Findlow was born May 11, 1920, at Paris, Mo. A longtime resident of Poplar Bluff, he was a life member of the D.A.V. Chapter No. 4 and V.F.W. Post No. 3172. He was an automobile mechanic and a member of the Lick Creek Baptist Church.

Mr. Finlow served in the Army during World War II.

Survivors include two sons, David John Findlow of Russellville, Ark., and John W. Findlow, Jr. Of Imboden, Arkl; two daughters, Barbara King and Christian Shepard, both of Stringtown, six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers James W. Findlow of Mount Vernon, Ill., and Alvie Findlow of Granite City, Ill., and two sisters, Mary Daniels of Bensenville, Ill., and Wanda Talas of Chicago, Ill.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Webster officiating. Burial will be in the Kerns Chapel Cemetery.
