Carrie was born and raised in Blanket Creek, near Sonora, Tuolumne County, CA, as were her siblings. In 1902, she married George Henry Brunson (1874-1962). Carrie was a dressmaker while George was a laborer, first for a lumber company, and later, for a limekiln operation. They would have one child of their own, Walter Arthur Brunson (1903-1971). However, when Carrie's younger sister, Edna, died unexpectedly in 1927, Carrie and George would adopt and raise Edna's two children, Vernon and Hilda.

Adopted mother of Vernon Everett Sare Brunson and
Hilda Bernice Sare Chiaramonte

After 40 years of marriage, Carrie and George were divorced. By 1945, Carrie had married William H. Gogmins (1902-1963), who was 21 years younger than she was! He might have been from Sacramento and worked in many professions, including railroad stock work, chauffeuring and carpentry. We believe that he was also known as Willie Gogmins, who was convicted of second-degree burglary and served in San Quentin from 1927-1930! (He sometimes used his mother’s maiden name of Keller as an alias!)

In 1950, Carrie Frances (Noland) Brunson Gogmins died in Bodega Bay, Sonoma County, California (where Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds was filmed) and is buried in Sebastopol. (William Gogmins would later become a caretaker at the Mitchell Ranch in Guerneville.)
