Her parents were Thomas and Sarah Howell. She married William James (Bill) Carson in about 1879 in Louisiana. She was his third wife. They had six children together in 14 years. Eugene and Melton died as infants. She died on February 3, 1925, in Winn, Louisiana, at the age of 68. She was a member of Sanders Chapel Church and was buried there at Sanders Chapel Cemetery.
