Family tradition holds that Albert was conscripted by troops who passed through were he was living during the Civil War and forced him to go with them. It was believed they were members of the 4th US Calvary Regiment but, as of this writing, no record of Albert Holiman ( or other spellings of his last name) have been located by this author).
Reprtedly, Albert died of cholera he contracted during the Civil War. There are conflicting stories but it is believed he made it home in time to die and is believed to have been buried on his farm at what was then called Paraclifta, Arkansas.
