Jimmy Dillon Anderson, 85, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on October 17, 2023 in Madisonville, Texas after a brief battle with cancer. Jimmy was born on February 12, 1938 in Sealy, Texas to Virginia and Jimmy Earl Anderson.

Jimmy attended high school in Gladewater, Texas where he met his lifelong love and wife of nearly sixty-five years, Joan. They were married on June 20, 1958. Jimmy had some roots in Madisonville, and moved their small family there in 1962, where he raised his children, Bobby, Kathy and Jimmy Dee. He spent the rest of his life in Madisonville where he had many friends and was a regular with the "feed store" gang. He loved to spend time at the lake, Saturday night domino games with friends, deer hunting and fishing with his kids, and attending all the various sports events his children were participating in.

Jimmy had a long career at TXDOT and retired in his early 50's to enjoy tending to his cattle and his beloved Navasota River bottom. He and Joan loved spending time at the camp and fishing. He spent a good portion of the later years of his life giving care to Joan who suffered from Alzheimer's disease. As a father and husband, he was a model of hard work, honesty and integrity.

A funeral service for Jimmy Anderson will be at 12 Noon, Friday, October 20, 2023 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. A brief visitation will take place from 10 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Bro. Beau Beavers will officiate the service. Interment will follow at McAdams Cemetery.
