Martha Jane Crown, 99, died at 10am Tuesday, October 24, 1989, at Arkhaven nursing home, Altamont. She had been a resident if the nursing home for the past 13 years.
She was born June 9, 1890, in Chauncey, MO, to Benjamin and Julia (Long) Woolsey. Her first marriage was to Marvin West. He is deceased.
She was married to William Alvin Crown on January 20, 1914 in Hugo, MO. He died in 1928.
She attended the First Baptist Church of Altamont.
Survivors include: two daughters, Grace Hedrick of Parsons and Eva Traxson of Liberty; 21 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and 37 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, five brothers, two sons: Ivan West and Alvin Crown, and two daughters, Hazel Crown, who died in childhood, and Pearl Hull.
Funeral services were held at 2pm Friday at the Bath Funeral Home in Altamont, with J.B. Hays, Jr. officiating. Burial was in the Altamont Cemetery.
