Mrs. Sallie Berry Evington, daughter of Benjamin and Julia Woolsey, was born at Hugo in Camden County, Missouri, May 24,1881, and passed away at a hospital in Lebanon October 7, 1968, at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 13 days.
On September 21, 1902, she was united in marriage to Albert Eugene Evington and to this union four children were born. In 1928, she united with the Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church and has been the church's oldest living member. She has been a life long resident of Camden County. Mrs. Evington was preceded in death by one daughter, Alma, in August of 1909 at the age of three years and by her husband, Albert Eugene, better known as "Bay" on April 6, 1948.
Survivors are two daughters, Eula Jones, Linn Creek, and Lucille Webster, Malta Bend, Missouri; one son, Eugene Evington of Montreal; two brothers, Jim Woolsey, Lakewood, California and Willie Woolsey of Maywood, Missouri; two sisters Polly Salsman of Camdenton, and Martha Crown, Altamont, Kansas; six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held at 10 am Wednesday, October 9, 1968, at the Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church, Montreal, with Rev. Ralph Zumwalt officiating. Interment was made in the Hugo Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Gail Frederick, Wayne Selby, Alfred Lane, Clyde Forbes, Fred Hedrick, and Clifton Forbes. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Hedges Funeral Home.
