Amos Helton married Elizabeth Harper February 17, 1831 in Carroll Co. GA. She was born in Tennessee November 11, 1797 and died in Haralson County GA July 22,1888. She is buried in the Buchanan GA City cemetery beside her daughter Elizabeth Helton Jacobs Holcombe. Her tombstone says Hilton.
Amos and Elizabeth Harper Helton had the following children: William A. J. "Jack" 1832-1889 buried in the Bethany Baptist Church cemetery in Haralson Co. GA, Elizabeth 1833-1905, James W. born about 1836 died unknown, Peter C. born about 1838 died unknown, Amos A. C. born about 1840 died unknown and Shuball E. born July 30, 1846 and died Feb. 5, 1925 and buried in the Jordan Memorial cemetery in Carroll Co. GA. All of these children were born and were married in Carroll Co. GA.
All of Amos and Elizabeth Harper Helton's sons served in the Confederate Army with the exception of Peter, nothing is known about him after the 1850 census and his marriage on July 3, 1856 to Minerva Adeline Sigors or Sigard. He could not be found in an 1860 census in GA. He may have died before the civil war.
