Mrs. Pauline Pahlke Friedland, 81, mother of John C. Friedland, member of the Illinois legislature and candidate for the Republican nomination for senator from the 14th district, died today at her home, 51 North Worth Avenue, Elgin. She was born July 15, 1862 in Germany and had been a resident of Elgin since 1890.
In addition to Rep. Friedland, she is survived by one other son, Walter J. of Geneva and 5 daughters Mrs. George Carbary, Mrs. Fred Funk, Miss Alice Friedland,and Mrs. Harold Heuer all of Elgin, and Mrs. Matie Ehle of Waukegan. Her husband, John, preceded her in death 2 years ago.
