Capt. William Guthrie was married to Elizabeth Guthrie at Hannastown, Pa., in July of 1784. They had 10-children William, James, Elizabeth (Betsy), Jane, Mary, Jennie, "Unknown", Nancy, Joanna and Joseph Brownlee. He fought in the Revolutionary War and earned the rank of Captain. He died falling from a moving wagon when the wheel ran over his neck, breaking it. William was the great-great-grandfather of Harry C. Guthrie.

Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery is now called Old Salem Community Church and Cemetery and is located in Derry Township and the address is 6500 Rte 982 Blairsville, PA 15717. This information came from the caretakers of the cemetery and from a church officer. I would like if possible to get this information added to William's Bio.
