Daughter of William A. Junkins and Jeannie Kane. First married to Edgar Wakefield who died in 1918 of influenza. Married Jack Shirra in 1921.

SHIRRA - Mrs. Gertrude, 84, Seward, died June 13, 1972, at North Side Hospital, Youngstown, Ohio. Born Feb. 9, 1888, in Pittsburgh, daughter of William and Jennie (O'Neal) Junkins. Preceded in death by parents; husband, John; and brother and sisters: William, Mrs. Clara Briggs, Mrs. Charlotte Kensey, Mrs. Marie Jones and Tessie. Survived by sons, Jack, married to former Geneva Sentle, Youngstown, Ohio, and Bernard, married to former Grace Clark, Seward; also five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and number of nieces and nephews. Member of Golden Age Club, and Altar Rosary Society of Holy Family Catholic Church. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Kenneth N. Gray Funeral Home, Seward. Mass of the Resurrection at 9 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward, the Rev. Edward McCullough. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery.
