In 2012 the Union Township Trustee changed. Prior to Memorial Day Weekend 2012 the grounds had not been mowed. The grass was waist high. With difficulty I located the grave.
Mr. Lumpkin, the former Trustee had kept the grounds in top condition because his ancestors where buried here and his family helped restore the grounds.
With the change in Township Trustee the grounds have been neglected.
FURTHER UPDATE (5-27-2012):
The grounds had been poorly mowed a few days before Memorial Day. Grass and weeds remained around each stone; only the area between each row of stones had been mowed.
---------------------------
When the headstones of Elizabeth and her father where reset during the cemetery cleaned up in the 1980's, they began to weather very badly becoming black with moss. (See the photos of before and after). Currently (2010) the stone is totally black and cannot be read except by tracing the letters with the finger. As of 2012 Elizabeth's stone has started to lean forward slightly.
--------------------------
Memorial Day 2013: No mowing had been done, grass was knee high. Throughout the rest of the summer the grass was only mowed about 2 times. Sad that this cemetery has been allowed to once again fall into this condition.
