The New Iberian (MO) – February 22, 1979:

Clarence Phillips was born December 19, 1886, near Brumley, Missouri, the son of Issac and Prudy (Hagerman) Phillips.

He passed away Wednesday, February 7, 1979, at the Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 92 years old at the time of his death. He was a member of the Brumley Church of Christ and a retired farmer. He was a former member of the Brumley Masonic Lodge.

In January 1913 he was married to Delsie Marie Godfrey of Richland, Missouri. He is survived by his wife Delsie of the home; four sons, Elvin and Clarence Jr. of Iberia and Issac and Louie of Brumley; one daughter, Mrs. Ila Asa of Brumley; four brothers, Fred and Noland of Iowa and Arthur of Tuscumbia and Harlan of Elston; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 1979, at the Church of Christ near Brumley with Brother Farris Wall officiating. Burial was in the Robinett cemetery. Pallbearers were Mack Rainwater, Bob Meyers, James Phillips, Oscar Pemberton, Don Jeffries and Gary Robinett. Services were under the direction of the Hedges Funeral Home, Brumley, Missouri
