Henrietta (Koncewicz) Kenna, 77, of New Britain, died Friday, April 30, 2010. She was the beloved wife of the late Leo F. Kenna. She was born in New Britain, daughter of the late Leon and Marja (Zynda) Koncewicz. She was a lifelong resident and a member of Holy Cross Church, New Britain. Henrietta loved to sew and made beautiful quilts. She was an avid reader and loved to bake; she was known for her apple pies. She loved to dance, play cards and spoiled her grandchildren who will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her son, Stephen Kenna of Warren, RI; three daughters, Diane Jones and her husband Brad of Simsbury, Darlene Butkiewicz and her husband Skip of Southington and Kathleen Heitman and her husband Scott of Corona, CA; eight grandchildren, Patrick, Connor and Shalyn Butkiewicz, Haley Jones, Audrey and Mitchell Kenna, Kennady and Taylor Heitman; her brother, Edwin Koncewicz of Bancroft, MA; her sister, Hedy Madrak and her husband Andrew, Jr. of Farmington; her brother-in-law, Frank Aparo of Southington and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two sisters; Florence Aparo and Barbara Koncewicz.
Henrietta's funeral service will begin on Friday, May 7th, at 9:00 a.m. at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Byzantine Cemetery, New Britain. Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Burritt Hill.
