DIED -COMMITS SUICIDE - HAD VISITED NEIGHBOR FOR DINNER, THEN RETURNED HOME AND COMMITTED ACT -ALWAYS LIVED THAT SAME PLACE - MRS. CLARA A RUPERT OF UNITY PRECEDED BY HUSBAND ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO WHO COMMITTED SUICIDE - FUNERAL ON MONDAY
Mrs. Clara A. Rupert, widow of the late Daniel Rupert, residing in Unity Township, committed suicide by hanging herself in the attic of her home, on Friday, October 28. She had been at the home of a neighbor, where her sister was visiting and requested the sister to come to her home to make a visit. After the noon meal she left for home to do the chores and when the sister arrived she could not be found. The children notified, who when instituted search, finding her in the attic.
A number of years ago she had been an inmate of the Massillon State Hospital, for a period of time. She had always resided at the present home site.
She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Macklin born near New Springfield, on June 11, 1867. Age 60 years, four months and 17 days. She is survived by two sons, Paul, at home and Clarence, of New Springfield; two sisters, Mrs. Will Dishong, of Columbiana and Mrs. Samuel Klingensmith, of Warren, one brother, Joe Macklin, of near new Springfield.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, at 1:30, from the home. Rev. Probst having charge with the services. Interment in New Springfield cemetery.
