Retired English teacher, Mountain View High School in Mountain View, CA for many, many years. Raised in Kern County, graduated from University of California, Berkeley, where he met and married Martha Chase. Father of 2 sons, Edward Franklin II and Thomas Chase Blalock, grandfather of 7.
Predeceased by his wife and parents 3 brothers and a sister. Survived by his sons and many grandchildren, brothers Doug, Leland, Bob and sister Cletha and their children.
Always supportive of his parents, siblings, children, nieces and nephews. Lifetime member of the Episcopal Church.
Died instantly looking out to sea on a fishing vessel docked at Monterey Bay. It was the 1st day of salmon season.
Two services were held: one in Pacific Grove and the other in Mountain View, California.

It's been nearly 20 years but as I recall Ed and Martha were buried in the Hillview Section near the corner of Oak Grove and Laurel Drive.
