A french Immigrant from Quebec he immigrated to the US in 1856, it was then he anglicized his name to Moses Bosley as he was most commonly known. He was baptized Violette Moise Dolphant Beausoleil in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Goderich, Ontario, Canada. In 1888/89 he and his family homesteaded on Little LaSalle Island, Mackinac County, Michigan. In early 1900 he settled in Chippewa County, Michigan until his death. His headstone is marked by a large field stone with "Moses Bosley" hand-painted on it.

Moses and Roseann were married May 31, 1869 in Southampton, Bruce Co, Ontario, Canada

Moses worked as a ship builder but his passion was music. He loved music and knew how to play every instrument and shared that talent with all of his children, there was not an instrument they couldn't play. They in turn passed the talent down to their children.

When the children were old enough he formed the Bosley Family Band, the photo of him is a clip of a larger one of all the family.

Together they had eight children;

3. ) John married Marie Artchmese "Mary" Laundry
4.) Ida Isadora married William Alexis Haynes
5.) Charlotte Ann married Louis Beauregard

8.) Louis Robert Violette married Ida Arminta Smith
