Woodrow Davis, 83, New Salisbury, died Friday, April 30, 2010, at his home.

Born Aug. 15, 1926, in Manchester, Ky., he was the son of the late James and Lida Smith Davis.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, a retiree of Ford Motor Co. in Louisville and a member of Gospel Fellowship Assembly Church in Marengo.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Davis, and a grandson, Larry Sullivan.

Survivors include his wife, the former Louise M. Golden; three sons, Wayne A. Davis of Milltown, Ronald R. Davis of New Salisbury and Timothy E. Davis of Depauw; three daughters, Charlotte D. Sullivan of Louisville, Chyrell Lynn Davis Sells of Pelham, Tenn., and Shannon L. O'Connor of Georgetown; two sisters, Sarah Crawford of New Salisbury and Viola Harris of New Salisbury; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral: Monday, May 3, at 11 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey with burial in Central Barren Cemetery.
Officiant: Pastor Gene Helms.
Vocalists: Ernest and Roberta Hamm.

Pallbearers: Shaune, Tim and James Davis, C.J. Bishop, Michael O'Connor and Shayne Sullivan.
