The daughter of Franz Joseph and Phillipina Blank-Henn, she was born in Dörlesberg, Baden, Germany. She immigrated with her parents landing in New York on Sept. 5, 1853. She married Michael Scheer on Nov. 24, 1853. Six children were born to them. She outlived all but 2 of her children.

Dies At the Age Of 90

Mrs. Genevieve Scheer was the Aunt of F .J. and Albert E. Snyder

Mrs. Genevieve Scheer, aunt of Francis J. and Albert E. Snyder of this city, died Tuesday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank G. Kingsley, No.14 William Street, Oneida. She was born in Germany and had lived in Oneida forty-seven years. Besides Mrs. Kingsley, she leaves another daughter, Sister M. Hedrana of Josephinum Academy, Chicago; two brothers, John Henn of Brown City, Mich. and Francis J. Henn of Little France and one sister, Mrs. Serena Dick of Utica. The funeral will be held at St. Joseph's Church, Oneida at 10:30 o'clock, Saturday morning. Reverend Michael Steiner officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Durhamville.

Mrs. Genevieve Scheer of Oneida departed this life, December 19, 1916, age 89 yrs. 11 months and 19 days. She had been in robust health up to the fore part of July when she called on an old friend; the dog bit her hand and from that time on her health began to fail until the end came.

She was born in Baden, Germany and came to this country with her parents in the summer of 1853. On Thanksgiving of that same year, she married Michael Scheer, two sons and four daughters were born to them. Two daughters survive her, Mrs. Frank G. Kingsley of 14 William St., Oneida where she made her home and was tenderly cared for; also one other daughter, Sister Hedrana of Josephinum Academy, Chicago; two brothers, John Henn of Burnside, Michigan and F. J. Henn of Little France and one sister, Mrs. Serena Dick of Utica.

The funeral was held at St. Joseph Church, Oneida. Rev. Michael Steiner officiated and burial was in St. Francis Cemetery, Durhamville where she was laid to rest by the side of her husband and departed children. Her relatives from out of town that attended the funeral were: John Henn and wife of Burnside, Mich., F. J. Henn of Little France, Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Snyder and daughter, Margaret, Albert E. Snyder and sister, Rose, all of Syracuse, John Strauss of Solvay and Mrs. John Johnson and son of Utica.
