Death of Aged Resident
Patrick McAnelly, and aged and respected resident, died Monday afternoon at the family residence in Belt, the cause of death being heart failure.
Mr. McAnelly was born in Londonderry, Ireland, 89 years ago and came to America in 1848, landing in Philadelphia. He settled at George's Creek, Maryland, where he was married in 1856 to Miss Agnes Coleman. In the year 1877 he located in the state of Iowa, later coming to Montana where he has lived the last 20 years. For the most part Mr. McAnelly followed coal mining and for several years was a successful operator of mines in Iowa. He was a man highly respect by all and had lived a long, useful and honorable life.
He leaves a widow, and seven children, one daughter, Mrs. Norton, lives in New Haven, Iowa, and one son, John, resides in Seattle, Wash. The other children all live in Montana, namely, Mrs. Frank Linhoff of Great Falls; Miss Annie McAnelly, Andrew P., Joseph and James, all residents of Belt.
The funeral was held from the Catholic church yesterday morning at 10 o'clock and was very largely attended by the friends of the family. Interment was made in Pleasant View cemetery.
