Dr. Millikin, 92, Dies In Richmond
Dr. Marie Millikin, past president and founding member of the Shelby County Federation of Republican Women, died at 10:30 a.m. yesterday in Richmond, Va. She was 92.
Dr. Millikin, who graduated from the old Women's Medical College in Philadelphia in 1913, was a life-long advocate of the Republican Party, speaking throughout the country for President Eisenhower in both of his presidential campaigns.
She was also a health care innovator, starting one of the region's first postnatal clinics in Memphis after World War I.
Graveside services will be at 2p.m. Sunday in Lake Providence (La.) Cemetery.
