Mrs. Iver Lee Bell Bean, age 77, finished her earthly journey Wednesday, March 11, 2009. Mrs. Bean was born February 22, 1932 the youngest of nine children in Augusta, Texas to the parentage of the late Edd and Essie Dupree Bell.
She at-tended school in the Augusta Community. Mrs. Bean accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church, which she enjoyed even when her health failed.
On March 23, 1951, Mrs. Bean was united in Holy Matrimony to Wilcy Bean. Following this union, they raised six children. She was a dedicated employee of Whitehall Nursing Home, and worked diligently for 28 years caring for those she loved.
Survivors include her five daughters one son three sisters-in-law she was also "Big Mama " to 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; several neighborhood children were also dear to her heart.
Preceded in death by her parents Edd and Essie Dupree Bell; husband Wilcy Bean; two grandsons Brandon Bean and Leon "Bookey" McCullough; one granddaughter LeAutrey Bean; five brothers Otis Davis, Chester Bell, Jay Jr. Bell, Eddie Ross Bell and John Frank Bell; three sisters Laura Bell, Reba Williams and Ruby Pearl Batts.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Iver Lee Bell Bean were be held Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Luke Baptist Church in Crockett with the Rev. Oscar Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Post Oak Cemetery in Augusta. Barkley Mortuary
