Norman Barnes, 70, of 818 W. Crockett St., president of Norman Barnes & Co., an import-export company, died Sunday in a hospital. He also was president of Consolidated Coal Exporter and Consolidated Trading Corp.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. tomorrow at Butterworth's Mortuary, with burial in Holyrood.
A native of Seattle, Mr. Barnes was a graduate of West Seattle High School. He started his import-export business in 1921. During World War II he moved to California, where he was in the oil business. He returned here in 1946.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Hal Brettell, Bellevue, and Mrs. Virgil E. Paine, Fort Smith, Ark.; a son, Ronald S. Barnes, Santa Ana, Calif., and a brother, Roland Barnes, Seattle.
