Baptized 28 Dec 1760; son of Stephen and Dorothy (Treat) Goodrich of Glastonbury, Hartford, Connecticut. A deed dated 26 Dec 1786 by which he received the south 25 acres of the Glastonbury homestead of his father Captain Stephen Goodrich (photo attachment) may hold a clue his date of birth was 26 Dec 1760; if so, then Stephen and wife Lois were baptized two days after birth.

Stephen married 06 Mar 1783 at Glastonbury Lois Bidwell; daughter of Joseph and Ruth (Kelsey) Bidwell. Their children (born in Glastonbury Connecticut): John Goodrich b. 1783, Nathaniel Goodrich b. 1785, Ruth Goodrich b. 1788, William Goodrich b. 1790, Josiah Goodrich b. 1793; then after the family moved to Middlebury, Addison, Vermont: Anna Goodrich b. 1796, Lois Goodrich b. 1799, Chauncey Goodrich b. 1803, Lucy Goodrich b. 1805.

Stephen Goodrich received in a 26 Dec 1786 deed (GCLR 9:305) the south 25 acres of the 50 acre homestead of his father Captain Stephen Goodrich; father-in-law Joseph Bidwell bought the north 25 acres including homestead the same day (GCLR 9:306). Captain Stephen Goodrich and the rest of his family then moved to Middlebury, Addison, Vermont and the family of Stephen Goodrich Jr. shared a home with Joseph Bidwell in the 1790 US Census prior to selling his 25 acre share to brother-in-law Jonathan Bidwell on 21 Jan 1795 (GCLR 12:68) and joining the rest of his family in Middlebury, Vermont where his first purchase of 60 acres from his older brother William was dated 24 Feb 1795 (MVLR 2:364); sold 02 Sep 1796 on the same day he bought a 100 acre homestead from Rev. John Barnet (MVLR 2:363).

By the time of a deed dated 06 Feb 1811 (MVLR 6:301); 18 days after the death of his mother Dorothy (Treat) Goodrich on 19 Jan 1811, Stephen Goodrich Jr. had sold his home and the last of his land in Middlebury and then moved to Locke, Cayuga, New York, where Stephen later bought a 37 acre farm in section 46 in a deed dated 01 Oct 1819 (CCoNYLR 57:112) that he sold to his son-in-law and daughter Thomas and Ruth (Goodrich) Chipman in a deed dated 19 Feb 1823 (CCoNYLR 61:447). After the death of Stephen Goodrich in what was still Locke on 25 Jul 1825, his wife Lois (Bidwell) Goodrich died in what had become Summerhill on 16 Jul 1832.
