Pete Anderson, City Councilman, Died
Pete Anderson died Tuesday at 9 a.m. at his home on Eleventh avenue west following a heart attack Aug. 3 while at work. He was 65 years old and a coal miner.
Born in Sweden on June 26, 1880, he had been a resident of Albia for 40 years and was a member of the city council, representing the third ward and a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Hayden Jones of Albia, Mrs. Roy O'Hara of New York and Mrs. Harold Shields of Davenport; a brother, Charles Anderson of Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Marks and Mrs. Wiley Wilburn, both of Des Moines, and 30 grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Lewis funeral home and services were held Thursday from the Methodist church with the Rev. Cecil Wells officiating. Burial was in Oak View cemetery.
